My daughter loved the school! by Lisa V. at InsiderPages
As a parent who had my daughter at Countryside for 2 years, I have never had any problems. I don't know what some of those parents that toured the school and weren't impressed were thinking. I looked at other schools in Citrus Heights and found them very sad. The kids had dirty faces, the floors were dirty and the staff looked like they could care less. Countryside Montessori was clean and the staff were very friendly.

Going Out of Business??? by Bob L. at InsiderPages
I can't quite figure this out. There is a For Sale sign, several in fact, on the street facing side of the property. Yet another sign that says they are still enrolling. Perhaps they are just moving?

It's good. by Star G. at InsiderPages
Interesting place. They do make an effort to help the kids that have problems. And if you talk to them about problems they really work it out.The kids learn to work independently very well.

Excellent choice! by Paulette H. at InsiderPages
I started my two kids here (preschool & 1st) Beginning of Oct 2008 after my older child endured a month of public school. The instructors at Countryside Montessori provide a superb level of instruction & guidance. My kids are given high expectations and really thrive on showing off what they've accomplished each day. I like the level of parental involvement and the way the day is structured to allow the children plenty of exercise and positive peer interaction. My kids love it and look forward to going to school each day (a complete 180 from public school where my older daughter refused to even get out of bed in the morning). Overall I am very pleased.

I like that my children do gardening, have recess and are being taught to work independently within the structured day. Unlike the authoritarian/control oriented public school system, they are required to work things out with their peers before they go to the instructor. They are also expected to take responsibility for their actions and the teacher have made it clear they are available to me for discussion every day if necessary.

Additionally, my kids being required to finish their jobs (Math, Writing, etc) independently and having it verified by a responsible adult, teaches them to take responsibility for themselves in a way that I very much approve of and even encourage in my own home.

The teachers there seem very focused on the kids. What some may see as chaos is actually my understanding of how Montessori works: the kids work independently and the teachers direct and supervise. Now that I understand how the Montessori classroom works I do see that the instructors have a handle on things. I really like it. My older child??????s natural talent as a helpful ??????teacher of others?????? is actually utilized rather than criticized (a la public school). My younger child??????s shyness and reluctance to interact with others is

Loving Care! by Julie Q. at InsiderPages
I was very impressed with the entire school facility, the staff and the busy & happy students. The inside and the outside of the school was well maintained and equipped. The Montessori activities were very complete and classrooms were full of fun & appealing things to do . The Director and the Owner are very eager to assist the staff and the children and were actively involved in the program. A pleasure to visit!
