His first words were “I’m a man of my word. If I give you my word, you can count on it”. This sums up Gary, the owner/operator of CornerStone Paving.
During the winter, he installed a 400 ft driveway for my other residence. As he exited his truck meeting me at my current residence, he was smiling ear to ear and said “I remember installing this driveway!” and that he did 11 years prior. I remember that time because it was my first job with him and, not being familiar with convention, I asked lots of questions. He was very patient, and myself being an engineer, he answered all of them with a level of technical expertise that was reassuring. Being very picky, I would not have utilized his services had I not been so pleased with the first driveway. So recently, I had another lengthy driveway installed. Again, all went better than I expected. I state that with heartfelt sincerity, because, being a “worry wart”, I’ve been accused of ‘getting in the way’ however I must say, it ALL came back to his “giving me his word I’d be happy”. In the end, he spent much more time consoling me than any other construction crew. But he did. Unfortunately, this review still does not convey how thoroughly pleased I am for the crew’s quality of work and console throughout, he put in to my driveways.
All I can say is that I’m glad there are still construction workers that begin with “I give you my word you will be happy” , then continually verify that I was happy with the execution of the job. He declared one last time that his entire business is word-of-mouth and repeat service. Oh , did I mention Gary phoned me 3 months after the completion of the job simply to ask me if I was still pleased with the results of the driveway !!?? He went over and above what I was expecting. I told him he is always welcome to direct others to view my driveways as an indication of the surgical quality of his work. I appreciate this level of service and only wish he specialized in other construction fields as well.
