This company does not train their guards. They are required to give a certain number of hours of training for each guard. This includes a book, tests, and video sent by the BUREAU OF SECURITY AND INVESTIGATIVE SERVICES. see www.bsis.ca.gov/ industries_regulated/ security_guard_training.shtml
Instead of reading the book and taking the tests a supervisor will forge the test. (No wonder everyone has recieved 100%) And instead of watching the video on WOMD employees were actually told to watch a blank television for a few seconds... granted the dvd player was broken at the time.. but to this day none of the guards have seen the video. And if that wasn't the icing on the cake, some guards do not possess or cannot obtain a valid CA Guard card due to a felony conviction.
I remember one incident in which Copper Eagle was hired to watch a forclosed home. And elderly woman who lived on the streetwas driving home when she noticed the companies patrol cars out front of the forclosed home. She stopped to ask the guards what was going on and one of the on-sites pulled out their tazer-gun and pointed it directly at her. Keep in mind the person we were trying to keep off the property at the time was a large male with tatoos... although it was dark so maybe he could confuse a frail 80 year old woman with a large muscular man....
Did you know Copper Eagle does NOT dr*g test their applicants? Because the company pays their employees just over minimum wage and provides no medical benefits they are unable to find many employees capable and willing to perform their job duties. Their best employees end up leaving for better jobs after about one or two months. While on patrol many times I would find employees asleep in their cars or just unable to be found or reached at all! The company is severely understaffed and has been forced to find employees through staffing agencies out in the SCV.
