Lousy Attitude and even worse service
I have spent over 6k in 6 months(had to replace the head etc.) with them and on 2/9/09 i went in with a check engine light on it was the o2 sensors. For some reason they rolled down all the windows on my 528i and on of them would not go past the 1/2 way mark when they went to put them back up. So they manually pulled it up and said it was not their fault could of broke at any time. Ok maybe but I asked if they could at least wedge the window in place so the rain would stay out. Oh sure we can do that for 98 more dollars. When I brought the car in the windows worked when I get it back they do not hmmm. DO NOT take your car there. seems like the place has really gone down hill.I will be reporting them to the better Business and triple A as they are AAA recommended.

Rip off
They want to charge 3hr labor for replacing ignition coils that are right on top of the engine, a 20min job at best.

Don't use for anything more than an oil change.
I have been using Convoy Auto Repair for over 4 years. In that time I have brought in a couple of different cars for different issues. 2/3rds of the time they don?t get it right the first time.
My last experience resulted in my paying almost 2 thousand dollars to fix a steering problem and 3 weeks later? guess what?.it?s not fixed. I brought the car back in and now they find a new 600 dollar part I need. When I asked why they didn?t find it before or why they fixed other parts if this was the real issue they just shrug their shoulders. This is indicative of several experience my friends and I have had there. If the problem is straight forward they can handle it, but for any diagnosis they act like mechanic trainees.
They install new parts and send you home to see if it works. If not you have to keep bringing the car back until they get it right, charging you high prices for parts and labor. Nice and professional staff but their prices and performance are not very good. This has happened several times and I'm finaly done with them. I?m back in the hunt for an old time mechanic who?s been around cars long enough to diagnose issues without only relying on a computer. Any kid can read a car computer error code.

Update
A week after posting my above complaint the owner of Convoy Auto called to suggest I bring my truck back in as he thought he knew the issue. I did and he fixed it at no charge. He (David) apologized for the error and showed a great deal of tact and customer service. "We may have made a mistake. Let me try and correct it" goes a long way in my book. It was still a frustrating few weeks but in the end I am happily surprised that they took the time and effort to try and make things right. Which seems to be a rarity these days. Next time I'm in this situation I'm going to give the business an oportunity to solve the problem before writing them off.

Convoy Auto by Sa M. at InsiderPages
I found out I was having an issue with my engine. I brought it into the shop so the team could run diagnostics. The engine was repaired for a total of over $2k. Less than 2 months later my car comes to a dead stops in the middle lane of the freeway during rush hour. The diagnostics came back with engine failure as the cause. I had my car towed to Convoy Auto and they said I need to either get a new engine or a used engine because mine now useless. The used engine would be $3200 parts and labor. The shop has refused to honor their 12 month / 12,000 mile warranty. So now it costs more to fix this problem then it did for the first round of engine work. The problem leading to the $3200 was described as a freak occurance and I was told that there was no way it could ever have been predicted. Let me know if you've had a similar experience.

Don't always stand behind what they sell
When I had my car in for other maintenance repairs of $3,000 (had used this company for years) they INSISTED, PRESSURED and wouldn't take no for an answer about saying I needed to replace the battery in my car even though I had a very good, not old, major brand battery that I was not having any problem with. The battery they installed was NOT a well known dependable brand, they charged me a hefty price for it and when I had problems with it not holding a charge, going dead constantly and getting me stranded...they said the battery was fine and shooed me on my way, with NO HELP whatsoever, EVER! This experience cost me my good battery, their lousy battery, a replacement battery & installation and an entire AAA membership from getting stranded! They do gouge the customer at every opportunity and find a bunch of repairs they insist you need that are probably questionable. I probably should have pursued them harder through AAA when they wouldn't help me with the problem, but due to a lack of time due to family issue restraints, I just changed mechanics immediately!!! Now, I go to a very reasonably priced, honest auto mechanic on Adams Avenue who NEVER pulls this type of stuff...even on his female customers!
