I went for a biopsy of a little spot on my back that turned out to be nothing. The office is in a old building and was hot and very crowded. I was on time but waited at least 30 minutes to get into a room. During the appointment the Physicians Assistant left the room 3 times because the staff needed her for something. The charges for the reading of the biopsy were $420...I was told a secondary test had to be done and that's why the charges were so high. The lab that read the biopsy is in Beverly Hills...no wonder it was so ridiculously expensive. I don't like that they sent it out of the desert...probably a relative of Dr. Jochen's. I would not recommend this dermotology group. They are ripping patients off....they are just trying to make as much money as they can but they won't get any more from me. Dr. Jochen your a scammer.

Dr. Jochen did the two things that I wish other dermatologists would do:

1. He's hands on, and
2. he listens.

Upon entering the exam room, Dr. Jochen asked me what was going on, and immediately got up close to look at my skin malady. He asked me what medication I'm taking, if any, and how those medication has contributed to healing the problem. Despite the brief encounter, he was detailed in explaining what options I have to getting rid of my breakouts. More importantly, he took the time to listen to my experiences; he was about to prescribe me something else when I requested to be put on a medication with which I've had success in the past. All he said was, Did it work for you? If yes, then that's what'll we do. Loved it. So far my skin is on its way to healing completely.

after visiting a few other dermatologists in the desert and being dissapointed, a friend refered me to contour dermatology. no need to look any further! dr jochen and his staff are the best!!!
