Sleazy Business - Do not rent!!
I had a terrible experience with Connie Rose that I felt I needed to share so others can avoid them and their shady business practices...
I signed a lease with them for one of their units in Emory Arms Apartments on June 2. I started moving my things in and on June 19 when I went to the apartment to move more stuff in there was a letter tacked to my door saying that the apartment complex had been sold and I had 30 days to vacate. The letter also indicated that the buyer would be demolishing the complex and building new properties. Clearly, they knew about this when I signed the lease and leased the apartment to me anyway, without mentioning the possibilty that they would be selling the building in the near future.
Thankfully, I work for a law firm and we sent them a letter demading that they refund my security deposit, pet deposit (since I never fully moved in and my cat had never been at the apartment), June rent, and other moving expenses. They wrote a letter back saying they told me that there was a possibility the apartments would be sold and that they even offered me 2 other units in different complexes-- obviously, complete lies. We wrote back saying that I would sign an affidavit and testify that this was untrue. I guess this scared them enough because they called a few days later agreeing to give me back my June rent (I was already refunded the 2 deposits from the company that bought the units).
Anyway, to make a long story short, Connie Rose is a completely unethical and sleazy business that tried to screw me over, probably because they thought it would be easy to take advantage of a young 22-year old girl like me. I would NOT recommend renting from them under any circumstances!
