Community Thrift by birdi n. at InsiderPages
First, I want to say the comment about 'firetrap' makes me believe the reviewer is talking about another place, or writing fiction.
Community Thrift store seems well run to me, and I visit many such stores. Their prices are a tad high, but the trick is knowing how to shop the sales. Instead of paying staff to mark down older merchandise, they have different sorts of sales on different days of the weeks, usually half price for certain color tags. I have heard that Saturdays all merchandise is half off, but I have never been there on a Saturday, so someone else will have to comment. There is a senior day, unless that has been changed. Yesterday (Tues.), for example, all items with red or white tags were half off, so a lot of bargains were to be found.
The store is well organized, except for a few large shelves that sometimes become over stocked. Clothing is arranged by type and by color.
One oddity, why can I never find socks, especially men's socks, at this store?
Another thing I dislike about them is when small items are packed together in huge bags with other odd items. I might want one or two things in the bag, but the other junk makes me turn away with disinterest. I might want to buy a few zippers or spools of thread, but not a bag of two hundred.
