Nice retirement village by Shannon W. at InsiderPages
Before my great grandmother had to go live at a nursing home, she lived at Columbus Estates Retirement Village. This is NOT a nursing home, you have to be able to take care of yourself to live here but it is assisted living where they provide all your meals and they come in a vacuum your room once a week. If you need them to, they can drive you to your appointments. Some of the housing that is available is similar to an apartment but it does cost more. What my great grandma lived in was like a studio apartment that was like a hotel room (no kitchen in the room). It was in a big building with a big decorated lobby, with the rooms off to the side. If you are a resident and have out of town relatives, they have a room that your relative can rent for a night at a very reasonable rate. It costs different prices depending on what you get, but my grandmother paid around 1,200 and that was including meals and electricity. You do have to pay for your own phone. This is a nice retirement village and would be a great place to live.
