Great great merchant by karlbball b. at InsiderPages
In contrast to the collectible business that is rife with hyperbole and misrepresentation, Stephen Tarantino, the owner of The Collector's Cave is a rare commodity. He is a honest hardworking guy who is willing to go out of his way to make sure that the customer gets what he/she wants and gets a fair price.

I first went to The Collector's Cave after I had purchased a bogus card on eBay. I needed to get expert verification to validate my eBay claim that the auction card I had purchased was a fake. Stephen did a review of the card quickly typed up a report and then gave it to me for no charge. I couldn't let it go at that so I picked up the newest Becketts Baseball magazine and some card protectors.

Soon afterwards I found myself with the request to sell (on eBay) a near complete collection of The Amazing Spiderman comic books for a friend. Since I didn't know anything about selling comics I went and got some advice from Stephen and picked up some backboards and vinyl comic bags to safely and professionally package the 300 or so comic books. Towards the end I ran out of supllies and just needed a few bags and backboards. When Stephen found out that I didn't need a full pack (50 each) he opened the sealed packages and sold me just the 5 that I was going to need. Once again Stephen went out of his way to save me money.

Inside the store there are lots of sports cards and comics but from sheer volume this store is mostly about collectible toys and figurines. A great place for kids and collectors of all ages.

Useful goodies for the avid fan
I stumbled upon this store while on vacation to the west coast from New York City. Though the number of issues per title was not huge, I was able to get the titles I wanted from recent weeks. Additionally, these books did not have much of the spine damage that I have seen recently in New York, Michigan, and Texas. I'm also a collector of Batmobiles and the owner had three that I purchased right off the bat. I highly recommend this store to any collector or fan!

Cleanliness is Next to This Store
I found The Collectors Cave to be very clean and well organized with friendly, helpful service. The selection of comics, cards and toys was excellent. Largest back issue collection I've found in S.F. In my opinion thier prices are equal to or lower than most specialty stores. Very nice.

Nice Selection but lacks on Depth
Contains a decent selection of sports card boxes and packs, a nice autograph collection, comics, and some non-sport sets (carries most new non-sport sets and a few older). Can fill want lists for some sets. A nice place to find a great gift for a sports or comic fan. Prices were decent if a little bit high.
