Can't get the prescription right!
I went in for an exam and glasses. When I picked up my glasses, I could tell immediately that it was the wrong prescription-I couldn't even see across the street. They examined my eyes again, and increased the strength of my prescription by .25. This was STILL not the right prescription but they told me to try it for the weekend. I did try it, and it was awful. I called my old eye doctor, found out what my old prescription was and went back a third time and asked them to give me my old prescription.
The difference between the first script they gave me and the correct script was .75. This is a HUGE difference. They told me that my old prescription is too strong, but I think you should be able to read a street sign from across the street. Maybe I'm too demanding when it comes to vision, but the first pair of glasses I got were dangerously weak. It's a good thing I didn't try to drive with them!
I don't understand how an eye doctor has such trouble figuring out the correct prescription! I wonder if it's because of the equipment they use. It's all very new and high tech, but maybe it's just a little too automated.
I am not the only person I know who has had problems with this Cohen's. When I mentioned my difficulties in my office, 2 other people spoke up and said that their prescriptions were also incorrect.
On a different note, the people who work at the store are all very friendly and helpful.
