Handshake and verbal quote is not enough here. He worked $2000 over quote (without consent) and took 4 months for a rebuild. Now I have the car back and have been driving it lightly for 2 weeks and the oil warning light is on and won't go off no matter what I do. So, Get everything in writing; including a mutally signed statement of what you want and a time frame. . .and communticate that you must consent to anything over quote. He is a damn good conversationalist and even a likeable personality and maybe even a competent mechanic. . . but poor businessman compared to what I am use to back home. (beware) I hear R2R is good.
