Been there, done that -- don't need to go again
My experience with Clarence Brown was LESS THAN STELLAR. Took a classic car to them, on the recommendation of another classic car owner with a similar car. Wanted to lower the car by cutting the front & rear coils. Yeah, I know you can buy lowered springs, but I thought I would go this route. After talking it over with the "classic car" specialist, I thought we were good to go. Came back after the rear was lowered and liked what I saw. Came back at the end of the day and said -- "holy heck"?! The car was way lower than we talked about. Still don't understand why he cut the rear springs more after I approved what he had done. To top it off, the alignment was off and the car was pulling to one side. This was a disaster. Resolution was to buy new springs and put the car back to where it was. They compensated me some, but not to my satisfaction. So, that's why I would NOT GO BACK or RECOMMEND them.
The lesson I learned ... this is what you get when you try to cut corners. Took the car to my mechanic, paid more but got it done RIGHT. Alignment done by Fast Service Center (see my review).
