I came to Dr. Chyz wanting porcelain veneers on my front teeth, after seeing his beautiful work on a co-worker. Dr. Chyz took the time to evaluate my bite, my gums and all my teeth. He then recommended that I consider braces (done at the office of an orthodontist, for which he received no compensation) and a re-evaluation after braces to see if I still wanted veneers. He explained that if I only wanted straighter, whiter teeth, braces and whitening might be able to achieve that and leave me with all my natural teeth structure instead of grinding away my teeth for veneers that would have to be replaced over time. I had never considered braces, but also hadn't realized veneers require taking away my healthy tooth structure to "put them in the right position". I eventually decided to go ahead with the veneers, and am so happy with my results. I appreciate the thought and time Dr. Chyz put in to explaining my options to me and all the pre-planning he did to create my beautiful smile. Thank you Dr. Chyz!

Dr Chyz is clearly quite knowledgeable and skilled. He also seems to want you to believe he is the best dentist in Seattle. Unfortunately it is often difficult to know if this years' "cutting edge" treatment plan is what is truly needed ...

He's probably a fine dentist, but I don't want a full-mouth reconstruction with deep cleaning and bite analysis! I just want a regular dentist. And I have the most generous insurance, but still had to co-pay, which I have never done ...‎

Dr. Chyz's rates are at the very high end compared to other dentists and his office demands an estimated co-pay before you walk out. From my experience I also feel he has very little tolerance for patients who might want to deviate ...‎
