Still Very Good After A Decade
I've been going to this Chopstix for lunch off-and-on for over a decade, and I always enjoy it. The food is good and isn't expensive. And as several other reviewers have noted, it's one of the few places I've found in San Diego that serve ramen, which I really like.

Most recently, I went there a few months ago to meet a friend for lunch. And you know what? Nothing much has really changed over the years, not even the menu. The up-side to that is the food is still very good (so long as you like salty ramen), and the prices are still low. If there's a downside, it's that the interior decor, which was already a little dark and tired a decade ago, has 10 more years of wear and tear on it now.

Another issue remains parking, because Chopstix is located in an unassuming little strip mall on Convoy with just a few parking spaces.

I hadn't been there in over five years until I went back for lunch a few months ago. I think it tells you a lot about what I think of the place that I was genuinely excited to see that it was still there and serving the same food, and that, when I left the restaurant after my lunch, I was just as happy and already looking forward to going back again sometime soon.

Curry ramen is a must!
There aren't many places in San Diego that I know of that make ramen, except for this place. The soup here is always flavorful, including toppings that make it look nice, like the fish cake you see in Japanese anime, to gyoza, depending on which ramen you decide to get though. I absolutely LOVE the Curry ramen! (But if your friend is ordering something with curry, just order the regular and spoon some of their curry on top because curry costs extra!) The chicken katsu with curry is also good, but sometimes it’s overfried so I think it makes a difference when you order the pork, or Tonkatsu. So on a cold day, this is the place to go for a filling soup and simple katsu dish! The waitresses are very attentive!

A good Japanese noodle house
Chopstix is located at 4633 Convoy Street at Kearney Mesa. It is a Japanese noodle restaurant. The atmosphere is a very comfortable setting and the service is fairly good. It's a place where you can just relax and sit back with your friends. The decor is straightforward and the waiters are very friendly. For starters, I usually get two orders of their delicious California rolls (only crab and avocado mixed together). It comes with the usual wasabi (I must warn you, the wasabi is extremely hot!) and ginger . If you want just something light and simple, I would order the California rolls. For the main course, I would order the wonton noodle soup or the katsu chicken. The wonton noodle soup is served with ramen noodles, some vegetables and four wontons in a tasty soup. The wontons and noodles are the only best parts of the dish and can be very filling (I don't care much about the vegetables). If you want something warm give this a try. The katsu chicken, I say, however, is the much better dish. The waiters serve this dish to you hot and ready. There are about seven pieces of chicken on top of rice complimented with a small amount of katsu steak sauce and a small bowl of salad. The chicken is cooked to perfection. If you have a yen for Japanese noodles, go to Chopstix!

Always packed for lunch - make sure you arrive either before noon or after 1pm to get a seat. Call me crazy, but their list of Ramen noodles reminds me of top ramen which reminds me of good times, simpler times... but I digress. Great warm meal for a good price!
Pros: low prices, large menu selection
Cons: busy at lunch
Price Range: $5 - $10

Try everything
I love this litttle place. I have been going for at least 10 years. I now live about 90 miles away but if I'm in the San Diego area, that's where I get lunch. Great flavors and a good menu selection for a tiny place. ...
