Nice afternoon
I went here to celebrate becoming employed again, and found this spa to be a pleasantly run, albeit a bit noisy establishment. That's always the risk you run when the spa is attached to a shop. The foot bath was nice except for the ladies sitting next to me yakking like they were in a nail salon. Ladies: Spa etiquette: If you are in a dimly lit part of the spa where people are quietly relaxing.....please do so yourselves! My massage was perfect, and the massage tech listened carefully to my needs and kept checking with me throughout. My only complaint is that for my manicure, the nail technicians are out in the lobby of the salon, which is a bit jarring when you've just been in a quiet massage. Pedicures, however, are done in the quiet part of the salon, and I did have a wonderful "dozing pedicure" where she reclined my chair back while she worked on my tootsies....never had that before! Overall, nice people, however, and great afternoon!

Great products if you have the money
I get both my hair and waxing done at Changes because the staff is incredibly professional. As soon as you walk into the salon, you don't feel like an outsider (as some salons can often make you feel like). Everything is incredibly sanitary and modern, and the products available for purchase are some of the top names. They always make me feel like a superstar, whether getting my hair cut or waxing something. The prices are a bit steep for its suburban location, but I only go once in a great while to make my money stretch. They understand that and always take it into consideration. In addition, they have late hours so I rarely find them completely booked.

All good has it's bad things
I too was a very big fan of changes salon. I went in for a facial, which was heavenly! The massage, the treatment, the friendliness.... All very well done! The salon is also clean, and very inviting passed the front desk!
Afterward, I had purchased some products for my face. These were a little pricy, but I decided to give it a try anyway. The instructions on what to do when I got home were wonderful. I was now ready to pay. Not only did I catch attitude coming in to check in which I had blown off, but I had gotten it leaving too!
Also... My face was burned and very dry on the lower part of my face. I had 2 Christmas parties to go to, and when I had my makeup dont for the first one, the artist had commented on how burned my face was on the bottom, and not to go back there. The patch of dry/burned skin was there for around 3-4 weeks!
Needless to say, I needed to take the products that werent working for me, and when I went to do the return, I was told that they would need to take the amount used out of my price that I would recieve back. I have ever heard of such a rule! Also, since the products were after the supposid 30 day return policy which I was never returned, they would not do a thing for me! Not only was I unhappy, but will never be going back again!

My holy grail by josephine n. at InsiderPages
The atmosphere at the salon in Changes is very friendly. It's a beautiful salon, and as far as I've noticed it's tidy as well.

I've only had haircuts at Changes. The first time I came here, I chose to have an executive stylist cut my hair. I was blindly placed with VENUS. I put my trust in her and Changes (The price forced me to trust them, ha), and I came out looking fresh and confident. I've gone back to Venus twice, and she's never failed to disappoint me. All the of the stylists, and even other customers, would compliment myself and her on how good my haircuts looked! I'm telling you, if you want a great haircut, or something more daring, Venus is a great stylist. She could make ANYTHING look good on anyone, I'm telling you. She'll pause at certain intervals of the haircut, and tell you what she's going to do next, and ask if you'd like add some sort of variation. Also, she's not one of those stylists who'd hack off your hair a foot more than you asked for. I trust her so much, I let her cut off THIRTEEN inches of my hair. She's also a sweet woman, and definitely has a lot of character.

I'd like to speak on my sister's experience as well. I'd been gushing to her about how much I loved Venus, and I convinced her that she should try Changes. However, she chose a stylist named ELISABETH instead, because she was in such a hurry to get a haircut that she didn't want to wait a while to schedule an appointment with Venus. Suffice to say, she was very disappointed. It's not that the haircut didn't look good; it wasn't the haircut she wanted.

If you haven't the money to invest in a $52 executive stylist, there are three more affordable levels of experience.

Changes also has a center for well-being, and a wide variety of massages, facials, and various other treatments.

For other services, the prices range from affordable to very high-priced.

Thus far, I have had no

Overpriced stylists
It was awful until I found Jim. He was great! My hair is very asian - straight and on top of that thin too. So I like short haircuts with graduated bob at the back and an A line in the front. I've never been happy after the haircuts until I found him. Once when he wasn't available Rachel had cut my hair and I left very unhappy. First of all, the woman wore extremely uncomfortable clothes (tight jeans and high heels) that prevented her from bending down. And she used a razor blade the whole time, even though I kept asking her to use the scissors.

Without knowing that Jim has left the Changes I called the place last week and was told that he is not there, but they insisted in finding someone else who could cut my hair. That someone else was Elisabeth. She was clueless what I wanted! In a minute she started to cut I knew if was going to be a fiasco. I was ready to cry when I saw a stylist next to us cutting someone's hair. That was basically the haircut I wanted and I told Elisabeth about it. And then that stylist next to us - Caron looked what I had and I think she knew Elisabeth's incompetence and stepped in and cut my hair! And saved my day.

Elisabeth can't cut hair, maybe she is good at coloring, but she is not a good stylist. But it's not fair that she charges $52!
