I've seen quite a few shows here at the Casbah, and all of them have been great. I love being so close to the bands and being given the opportunity to go chat with them after the show. (They have all seemed really nice!)

It's cool that they have Pabst BR tall boys, no matter how hipster that seems. You definitely get a bit of a hipster vibe from the place, but it is also really laid back.
There is a back bar and a front bar, but the back bar, in my experience, gives better service. Maybe that is just because the bartenders at the front are always much busier--but less friendly.
It'™s okay though, I love this little place for shows though I've never been for anything else.

If your looking for a good Venue to watch live music in San Diego, then look no further, the Casbah is F@cking legit. I've seen over a dozen live shows here and have have nothing but a good time.

They feature everything from main stream bands to local underground San Diego bands.
The location is first rate to enjoy music up live and in person. The floor space is not entirely huge, but the perfect size to view bands up close without being overly crowded.
You basically feel like your on stage, rather then trying to strain your eyes and make out what the band even looks like.
Plus they have a good sized out door patio for all those looking to get away from the music for a couple of minutes.
The max cover I have ever paid has been $15 and for those $15, I got watch 4 different bands play live. The Casbah is a rare gem when it comes to Music Venue's , def the best one I have been to around SD.

Casbah is a great little place to listen to live music and enjoy good food and drinks. Tickets aren't too expensive, they average around $12 per ticket. But it's worth going for the entertainment and atmosphere.

This is a good venue for catching soon-to-be or has-been bands and musicians.
Their back bar has pool tables, video games and a tv that shows a live feed of the stage if your ears are too sensitive to go up front by the band. Good drink prices, too.
