I remember staying here with my family as a kid and it was really wonderful. Directly across the street from the boardwalk so you don't have to pay the outrageous $20 parking fee at the boardwalk. Great place! ...

When we first drove up, the first thing we noticed was the area...........Do we need to lock our car doors - is this a safe motel?? The area we found was just "Boardwalk" type area. The hotel room was clean. We stayed for four nights. Door knob broke 2 days into our stay, and they did not replace it. We went with two 14 year old boys. They loved the fact of being right accross the street from the boardwalk. My husband and I loved being within walking distance to the beach and warf. As for the breakfast, I wish they would of offered more than bagels and two types of muffins.maybe at least english muffins would have been nice. I will say, the muffins were still warm!! We went the first week of April and the weather was great. I am not sure if I would stay here if it was real hot, the motel does not have A/C.....just a fan for the rooms. Overall, the area is kind of scary because of the homeless that hang around asking for money and food. Next to the motel is also a laundry mat ...

My husband and I stayed here for a romantic getaway from our four kids on Valentines day 2009 ... It was Great !! I love this motel .. not only are you just across the street LITERALLY .. from the boardwalk .. there is a bar, bowling alley, resturants, laundromat and convience store within walking distance. The staff was great upon check in and our whole stay .. The room was really clean (and I am very picky) the shower had great water pressure ... !! The front desk clerk Antonette was super great ... told us some great local spots to eat, gave directions and tips even phone numbers for delivery pizza places. I also was able to get the package deal which is a super deal ! It came with 2 summer passes .. (normally $70 each) 2 day passes for friends to the boardwalk (normally $40 each) 2 games of bowling ( normally $14) and miniature golf ( normally $14) Then we got a bonus at the boardwalk with the 2 season passes .. they gave us 2 more all day guest passes for the boardwalk ( normally $40 each ) .plus 2 coupon books for lots of buy 1 get 1 free food on boardwalk (normally would of been $328 worth of stuff .. WOW .. and 2 NIGHTS Fri & Sat .. all for $292 total out the door .( this is the winter price but only goes up $100 in summer).. SO you do the math ... great room ... great deal .. great time .. The breakfast was coffee .. tea ... hot cocoa ... and home baked muffins some fresh cut fruit .. Was not impressed but who cares .... I saved so much by staying here that I ATE out for breakfast but the coffee was good and strong !! :) as for the people hangin around .. all I seen was lots of boardwalk employees coming and going becase the motel is across street from parking lot for employees ..but you see security 24/7 across street felt safe whole time .. was quiet .. . there are pictures of the view from our room (rm 309) on my myspace feel free to check it out :) I will NEVER stay anywhere else in Santa Cruz ... it was to good !! NOT one complaint

The access to the beach was great and so close to the boarkwalk made it better. Killed a couple of spiders that night that came out of the bathroom light that night, but other that that it was a good stay. Worth the price due to the location, and the front desk was helpful.‎

Originally we made reservations for a double queen bed when calling a month later to confirm they told us it was a queen bed (handicapped which none of us are). I asked for 2 roll aways as there were 4 of us staying in the room. When arrived we were told only 1 roll away could go in the room, little late to tell us that their person had made a mistake. My son slept on the floor (he is 28). The maid left the shower on and it flooded the bathroom which we cleaned up. The bathroom door lock did not work. The first night we had a bum scale the side of our room to get to the 3rd floor to try and steal booze. We had another bum sitting outside our patio yelling and flipping everyone off that went by. The pizza guy delivered pizzas, while he was handing them to the people who ordered yet another bum ran by and stoled the rest. We had a guy standing outside our room dancing with his shadow. The place is crawling with vagrants. The worst I have ever seen. The only positive thing is it is ...
