I've been taking my dog there for about 6 years & have never had a problem. My dog is never thrilled about being boarded (he hates being away from us) so when we pick him up he's alway glad to see us but more importantly, he acts like he feels good. He's 14 years old with a touch of arthritis so that's saying something. I always send in pain medication "just in case" and they've never had to use any.‎

Our experience with boarding here was positive. The staff was kind, (two ladies helped us), and seemed interested in our pet. We toured the facility prior to leaving and it was clean and the boarding areas were larger than we had seen elsewhere. I think the owner showed us around. He was pretty matter of fact about things and that may bother some clients. We used them during the holidays and it was pretty busy.
They gave us a Boarding Report Card upon check-out that had things regarding diet, attitude of our pet and how they felt he did during the stay. It was a nice touch.

I was not satisfied at all with my pet's stay, and many others can tell you the same.

The staff was very rude and my animal was not given the proper care. I found him to be dehydrated when he returned home. I was never contacted about his lack of water intake had it been my dog neglecting his bowl.

Also, you must pay extra for all additional services such as walks and play time, which other kennels will do no matter what. There's no possible way of knowing whether or not they are actually performing such activities anyway, whereas some other kennels that I have boarded at will have staff playing with animals when you drive up to them.

Bottom line, find someplace better that actually cares for your pet. Quite frankly there's nothing that the owner can really say except to say what is listed on his website. It just shows that he doesn't really take to heart is own profession.

My sweet tempered dog came home after 3 days at CPP and showed signs of abuse and water having been withheld from him. I would NEVER concider bring an animal to them again for any reason. If the owner of CPP sees this then great. You need to be watching and checking up on your staff!‎

Carolina Pet Place is open Monday-Friday, 7:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m. Saturday we are open to the public, 8:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. and Sunday 5-6 p.m. for pick-up only. We are also closed to the public for six holidays, however, our staff obviously has to work those days since they are often our busiest times. Carolina Pet Place has business hours 359 days/year.

Our staff returns Saturday afternoon and works Sunday a.m. in preparation for dogs going home Sunday night. Our staff works extremely hard in fullfilling the responsibility clients give us in the care for their pets. Clients are charged by the night with the exception of Sunday night when clients are charged for Sunday.

It is unfortunate that someone had such a bad experience. Carolina Pet Place welcomes suggestions and criticism. In addition, the ownership would have welcomed the opportunity to refund the expense of boarding for someone so obviously unhappy.

Carolina Pet Place opened May 2002, our policies, procedures, facilities and hours have remained the same for six years. Through friendly referrals and veterinarians support our client base has grown to over 3000. We strive to meet the needs and expectations of every client, however, we realize that we will fall short of those expectations in some circumstances.
