I bought a sofa at Carl's Furniture on 5-17-09, which they promised me would be ready by the end of June. I was willing to wait a month for a good quality sofa. They could not deliver the sofa on time and I was informed by the sales staff that it would be arriving by the 4th of July. The 4th came and went without any communication about the delivery of my sofa. So I called to inquire about the delivery of my sofa, for which I paid cash. Then I was informed they don't know why it hasn't arrived yet and they need to call the factory to find out where it is. Next they promised to have the sofa by the end of Aug. At that point I decided to cancel the sale because I had no confidence they were actually telling the truth about the delivery date in the end of Aug. Next, since I had paid cash in advance I requested a refund. The nasty attitude displayed by the manager was remarkable. However, he informed me that they legally had 2-4 weeks according to the sales contract to refund my money. He promised to expedite the refund for me. I was still waiting for my refund 26 days later when it arrived just within the legal frame work of the sales contract. The lack of respect for the customer was shameful on behalf the management and I would never do business again with this company.
