Great results from Career Pro
John O’Connor and staff have been a great resource for me with regards to creating a comprehensive and professional resume for employment in the Biotech/Pharmaceutical field. John initially met with me to discuss his company specialties including professional transition and outplacement professionalism.

I met with John at his company headquarters in Raleigh (RTP) to discuss my resume and transition & outplacement. We initially worked together to build a well-rounded and comprehensive resume and chronologically correct work history. With John’s background he was able to bring out the best attributes of my twenty-three years of industry experience. The next session with John we focused on interview strategy and techniques. This was extremely productive for me since I have not interviewed much in twenty-three years in my biotech career. John made me feel very comfortable but still made me think as though I was interviewing for a prospective job. He asked me tough questions, would hear my response and then would point out possible deficiencies and give professional advice on better responses and interview techniques.

John O’Connor and “Career Pro” have made a good impression on me and I would definitely consider them again as a trusted resource for a transition and outplacement resource.

King Regards, Tim Cunningham

Top Notch Career Coaching and Personal Branding Strategies
I've been working as an intern with John O'Connor at Career Pro for a number of months. My internship has already taught me so much about small business, employment, human resources, and branding marketing because of how I've witnessed John work with his clients. John provides strong coaching, mentoring and assistance in understanding the challenges his clients face during career or entrepreneurial transition. He works hard to coach his clients in the importance of personal branding. Through this I have learned and applied critical lessons in marketing and advocacy for clients. His standards for writing, research and client service/customer service are extremely high. Additionally, he has worked with and allowed people to work with him and his network at no cost or barter. They also provide pro-bono assistance to organizations and people that can't afford those services. Nothing in my experience working with this organization directly for many months has given me anything but an impression of high integrity.

Career Pro Inc.
I very fortunately came to Career Pro Inc. prior to being displaced from my position. John not only prepared me, he enabled me to be proactive in the way I built my personal brand. Together, we've worked to build upon my strengths, overcome a recession laced job climate filled with a plethora of qualified candidates for every executive position.

I know dozens of his clients who would agree. Career Pro Inc. is one of the finest services in the U.S. and I gladly offer this review.

Amazing....
I am a Career Pro client. Let me frame for you why. I am a Human Resources Executive whose expertise among other areas is the talent management process, i.e., recruitment, interviewing, hiring firing, etc. In other words I know how to write a resume, I know the strategies of interviewing from both sides of the desk and, I know how to identify and select talent. So,from this perspective I can tell anyone interested or in need of career transition assistance Career Pro is the place. Yes, there a many choices one can select from but I can assure you Career Pro will help you like they have helped me. Why does a "know it all" in the career search industry seek the assistance of Career Pro; because they are good. It is a cheap shot for anyone to make a negative comment about any individual or organization without identifying themselves. In the corporate world I experienced this quite often unfortunately, it is difficult no, impossible to respond to the individuals concern. I understand the reason - potential retaliation. In this venue it is easy to "throw darts" without identifying yourself - - - are you a competitor to Career Pro attempting to drive business away from them and hopefully to you? So, what is your prolem. If you are/were a client and did not get the satisfaction you expected, the ONLY way you can get it resolved is to communicate with John. Trust me, those who are dissatisfied are a minority and, I encourage you to contact John, identify yourself and your dissatisfaction. I guarantee, provided you are realistic, your concern will be resolved satisfactorily. Of course, if you are a competitor to Career Pro seeking to take business from them by negative remarks the only problem you have is an ethical one. Thank you, one very satisfied client.

Look elsewhere
I went to have a consultation with John at CareerPro when it looked like my company would probably be failing soon. I have 12 years of experience in the IT field, with several certifications. He said that if I decide to work with him he would have several interviews with me in order to get enough information to write an effective resume. John also said he would give me inside info into companies that I'm interested in working for, and that he has contacts at several of the companies I wanted to work for. He would also do some mock interviews to help me see what weaknesses I may have in the interviewing process. I was to pay $500 up front, and he would charge the remaining $295 to my card when I was satisfied. This fee was for two different resumes (two different positions I was targeting). I would have the drafts by the next Tuesday or Wednesday, and the final resumes on Friday of the same week. He knew I was waiting to apply for a position that was open. I went in once for an information-gathering session with John and after asking a few times, I finally had the ROUGH draft for ONE of the resumes on Friday (when I expected to have the FINAL documents for BOTH of the resumes I paid for). He explained that he wanted another week to "bake in the quality".

This draft had many mistakes, including grammatical errors, formatting errors, and just awkward wording in general. He obviously had no general knowledge of the industry to be able to make some of the more glaring mistakes. I sent him an email listing the mistakes and the changes I wanted him to make and explained that I expected two drafts, not one. I asked him if I could just pay for one resume instead of the two that we agreed on, since he was so late in getting it to me. I was so anxious to apply for the position that had been listed for a while that I was willing to just edit what I already had just to get it in the hands of the company. If I had to do that anyway, why should I pay for the second one? He was very short with me and said he wants me to stick with our original agreement and pay for both. I had no problem sticking to my agreement but he did not stick with his. I'm paying a large amount of money for a service that he is providing and I expect a lot more for $800 than I am getting. He was very angry when I told him this and said that my resume was "horrendous" and he transformed it. He says that I'm too quick to judge and that it will not bode well for my job seeking foray. He tells me that the draft I have is worth more than I paid. Really? With all the errors made, this certainly did not appear to be the work of a professional. Anyway, I finally agreed to hang in there a bit longer and pay what I agreed to get the completed work LATER than I agreed.

When all is said and done, I had one interview with him instead of the several he mentioned in our original consultation; he sent me .pdf documents he got via a quick Internet search about the companies I mentioned having interest in working for; and as for a 'contact' that he said he had at one of the companies I was applying to, he gave me the name and number of someone and told me to mention his name (this 'contact' wouldn't even take my call, and dropping John's name did nothing). We also did none of the mock interviews he spoke of.

Exactly one week late, I finally get the two documents which still needed edits and had severe formatting issues. He fixed the formatting "glitch" and charged my credit card for balance that I owed him. There were still typos and awkward wording, but after getting so much attitude from him, I just decided to fix them myself and be done with it. That was easier than getting into more arguments with him when he goes on the defensive. He has a very bad, childlike temper, and I have proof of this in the emails I have from him.

I don't know where all these 5 star reviews are coming from, but I sure don't agree with them.
