Bang Salon is a keeper by rock n' roll m. at InsiderPages
I have been getting my hair cut here for years now. My Stylist Brennan was recommended to me by a friend. On the way to my first appointment, my car broke down. I called and the front desk staff squeezed me in later in the day. THANK GOODNESS! Brennan is a miracle worker. I came outa there looking like a rock star!!!! I love the vibe, it's not a salon you're going to get pampered in. If that's what you're into, go to Georgetown and shell out 100 bucks for a cut! I'll stick with Bang for cheap amazing styles.

Selma is really quite fantastic! by Kirsten L. at InsiderPages
I just moved to the city and needed a haircut. I'm always so scared of getting cuts. I'm not really that trendy or cool. I went to Selma at the U Street location and she did a fantastic job. Best haircut I have ever had. She is absolutely charming and it was a pleasure to sit in her chair for 30 minutes. Quick and fabulous. Not a bad price either. She did exactly what I asked her to do and made it even better with a few more touches. I know the late policy, the online appointments and reserving it with a credit card seems weird- im a small town girl so this was out there for me- but it was so worth it.

worst service ever +staff are snobs
The only nice people there were the guys who shampooed my hair - and even that was messed up - I had to rewash it myself to get out the soap they missed b/c when i told the guy about it, he just shrugged! Anyway, they charge if you're 15 minutes late but I honestly had to wait 45 minutes for my shampoo. then another 15 minutes for the stylist to come over and speak to me in a very demeaning way about what exactly it was that I wanted. I ended up with an okay haircut but really bad choice of bangs in the front - because she WOULDN'T listen to me!! Overall, bad service and the money was NOT worth it. Staff are snobby and front desk people are clueless and very inattentive- they have their music on and are getting paid so what do they care where your stylist is? You could sit there for a hour (i did) and your time isn't worth anything!!

Worst haircut of my life!
Please take my warning and never go to this salon! I received the worst haircut/color of my life and it was ridiculously overpriced and the stylist Jason was extremly rude. When I went to another salon to have it corrected she concured that the color was terrible and that it looked like a child took a pair of sisors to my hair in spots on my scalp. My fiance couldn't even lie to me and say it looked nice when I came in the door in tears, he just helped me find a salon to fix it and fast.

I would give it zero stars if I could. Worst salon I have ever been to!

Great place
I lived in Manhattan for 8 years, Paris and Boston, and I've had the best haircut and color experiences at Bang. The atmosphere is fun, yet professional, and Selma is attentive and talented. The prices are quite reasonable, approx. $125 for cut and half-foil highlights. I will certainly miss the service here when I leave DC.
