Hello Citysearch patrons, my name is Kimberly Hughes and I am a stylist at Capristo Salon. I am on Citysearch today in reference to the comment that was written about me on October 18 by one of my clients, NicoleA20. I want to extend a formal apology to you that your final product was not what you envisioned. There may have been some miscommunication between what you and I both pictured for the final result. As for leaving the bleach on a long time, my first concern is always the integrity of the hair. If the processing time felt long for the bleach, I would have a good reason for doing so. One of my goals as a stylist for my clients is to inform and educate all of you of what is happening to you during your time with me. That is one of the reasons why I became an educator for L'Oreal Professionel and for my several master degrees in color so that I am always keeping abreast of the latest classes and educating myself for my clients. The reason I am writing on Citysearch is because I would love to extend an invitation to you to come back, so that we can sit down and discuss exactly what your expectations are for your hair and how we would go about attaining them. I could tell you exactly what my thought process was for your last appointment by your detailed client information card that I keep on all my color clients. What would be a great help and tool for us to better communicate when we consult is to have some pictures of hair color that you like and dislike to use as a reference point. Once again I do apologize your last experience was not what you had envisioned, and I would love to make it up to you. Reading the reviews on citysearch for this salon, I decided to make an appt for a hair cut with one of the stylists with more than one positive review. I want to caution others that I did not receive a good hair cut and went to another place to get it fixed a week later as I felt the salon as well as the stylist weren't worth another gamble. Short layers were cut into the top of my head and not blended in with the bottom so it was like I had two different hair cuts going on at once and the stylist next to mine and that client were having a conversation that could offend others. The experience was pretty pricey and not worth it. Once my hair was fixed, I was talking to someone who complimented me on this "fixed" cut and I mentioned that this version was a correction from a stylist at Capristo salon and a person overhearing this chimed in that she got a hair cut by this same stylist at this same salon the day before and her layers were not blended as well (my hair is shorter and hers is longer). I hate to name names as everyone has a bad day or days but I would just urge caution! Next time, I don't think I will make an appt with someone based on reviews, I will need to see their work in person!

I just started school in Pittsburgh, so I needed a new place for my Brazilian waxes. I found Shelly on line and thought I would give her a try. Well her reviews were all correct. She really is so professional and fast, I was amazed.

I have went to Kim a few times for highlights ...she does a really good job and takes her time but the past couple times I went she didn't really listen to what I wanted. She also left the bleach in a really long time without checking them...There were very very white then!

I heard about Shelly's Brazilian wax techniques so I drove 2 hrs to see her. I had waxes before that were not great.
Shelly met all my expectations. She was so fast and missed nothing. Before Shelly waxed me, I had to go home and clean up what others left behind. Shelly knows her stuff. Very professional as well.
