Even Home Depot is better by Maria M. at InsiderPages
Although this is a pleasant place to walk around on a weekday (on weekends it's unbearably crowded), I wouldn't recommend Capital for several reasons:

They don't stand by their plants. I spent several hundred dollars there; nothing survived. I was basically told to pound sand. In contrast, Home Depot & the like will guarantee plants for 1 year. I've had about a 85% success rate with Home Depot/Lowe's plants vs. 0% for Capital.

They're of course more expensive than Home Depot. But they're even more expensive than other small nurseries.

Selection. Although they have more plants than the home improvement places, their selection is only slightly better.

If you are able to actually find someone to help you (even on a weekday), they are clueless & bored with their job & it shows.

I wish I had better things to say, as this place is close to home & I'd prefer to give them business rather than large home improvement places. However, if they fall far below the minimum standard of even Home Depot/Lowe's, I can't rectify giving them my business.

great variety and service
I know very little about the out doors. I went to Capital Nursery yesterday and wow , I could not believe the variety of flowers that they had. I was taken by the arm and told what flowers would be best for my home just by answering a couple of questions based on sunlight. I was impressed! Thanks to Joe and staff.

Nothing Special by Heidi K. at InsiderPages
Capital Nursery has a great assortment of plants, but there is nothing that really makes them better than any of the other nurseries. The prices are comparable to other local nurseries, but they aren't generally the lowest price around. The staff here is helpful when you can find someone available to actually help you. The biggest problem with this place is that it is always really crowded so you feel like you're being rushed around the aisles and that you're always in someone's way. I like to take my time, and the atmosphere of Capital Nursery is more frenzied.

Find All Your Gardening Needs by Nola M. at InsiderPages
I have bought many plants at Capital Nursery and they have all done wonderfully in my garden. They have a large selection of rose bushes and I have had great success with the ones I have purchased. They are helpful and knowledgeable and have always made me feel like a valued customer. A one-stop shop for your gardening and yard care needs.

PROS: Great selection
CONS: A little pricey, but worth it.

Nice Nursery by Kenna M. at InsiderPages
Garden center is close to my home, so I like going there for specialty items, trees or roses, gifts.

If I need annuals, I'll drive further to Home Depot. The staff are knowledgeable and helpful.

PROS: Close to home -- nice staff
CONS: expensive -- wide variety
