Dr.Hamil and staff are amazing, my Lil Pomeranian was having health issues for 2 months since I got him throwing up and diarrhea constantly. I'm sure it was prior to that also. I had gone to 2 other vets and finally was referred to Dr. Hamil. None of the other vets could figure out what was wrong with him and kept saying he was fine and Dr.Hamil right off the bat tested him for GIARDIA and that's what it turned out to be. It's pretty sad that all the other vets did fecal tests like 5 times and couldn't think to check for it. I now know my Lil baby is in good hands and thanks to Dr. Hamil he has got his strength back and is a healthy and happy puppy. He is a very intelligent caring, understanding, helpful person and i recommend him to everyone. I drive 30 miles to get to him and it's well worth it!

Used to be good; gone downhill.

Dr. G is the new owner of the practice as of late 2009 and since he has taken over, it has become a very different place to bring pets.
While sitting in the lobby a man was waiting for his records telling me that Dr. G never returned calls and his dog died.
Separately, there is a $12 cost on top of any prescriptions filled - ridiculous.
Dr. G is one of these doctors that says "leave everything to me" - next thing you know you have a bill for hundreds of dollars for tests that have been performed without your consent.
This used to be a great place to take pets for care. With this new ownership and lack of sensitivity, I highly recommend a new vet.

Good veterinary care but pricey

There are three doctors in this practice and all are top notch. That said, although Canyon Animal Hospital has always been pricey, they are now a bit over the top $$$ wise ... especially in this tough economy. Coupled with the trend toward higher prices, some of the staff can be friendly or not depending on their mood. Follow up also can leave something to be desired depending on which vet you are dealing with . And perhaps the most disconcerting factor is feeling that the office is not as organized as it could be.There are other practices that offer a high caliber of veterinary care and are also down to earth and spot on as far diagnosis, surgery etc. at more reasonable prices ... I hope that the docs at Laguna Canyon Animal Hospital realize that their clients are having to keep a tighter control over their finances and reassess some of their current fees .

It seems like the whole staff cares about whats going on. Yes, they are sometimes a little busy but all top notch people who will take the time to do things correctly even when busy. The doctor seems to be a animal lover also not just a money maker. Great place

THE most caring doctors and staff...

The experience starts with a great staff being very helpful, when you are trying to help your fur baby who can't tell you what's wrong. The staff are informed, kind and helpful from scheduling to weighing everybody in. The doctors are bright, personable, very well-spoken and incredibly in touch with your animals needs, and the freaked out moms needs too. The are the best Vet I've experienced in my life time of animals.
