THE WORST PLACE TO SHOP FOR BRIDESMAIDS DRESSES. My cousin
THE WORST PLACE TO SHOP FOR BRIDESMAIDS DRESSES. My cousin found a bridesmaid dress that she liked but was not 100% sure that she wanted that dress. She informed the girl that was helping that she wanted to come back and show her mom before she made a final decision. The girl working there told her she would make a note of which dress she liked and could take down the bridesmaid names and numbers so when she was sure about the dress they would call the bridesmaids and get their measurements. Three months later they went behind her back and called nearly all the bridesmaids and told them to come in and get fitted without informing the Bride. My cousin had no idea they did that until one of the bridesmaids called to tell her she made a deposit on the dress. My cousin (the bride) was so upset and called the Bridal Salon to tell them she never told them that was the dress she wanted for sure. They made the mistake and did not own up to it. They were supposed to call her back, NEVER DID. Then once she spoke to the manager she said they do not give refunds. The manager would only put the deposit towards another dress. Luckily it was not until much YELLING that they "claim" they will refund the bridesmaid deposit. We will see.

Do not go there; it is not worth the headache.

I ordered my dress and paid upfront for it - $1700. Dress
I ordered my dress and paid upfront for it - $1700. Dress wasn't shipped until 5 weeks before my wedding, then it was lost for 2 weeks. I was told it would take 4 weeks to alter. I got them to alter it quickly, charged me extra (they WON'T tell you a price for alterations until after they're done!). They ordered the wrong veil and tried to tell me I couldn't get a refund, even though the correct one might not be back before the wedding. When I went to pick up my dress, they SNAGGED it in FRONT of me and told me they couldn't see anything wrong with it after I showed them. Then they tried to pin it on ME. Worst $2000 I will ever spend - don't make the same mistake I made. They are nice and tell you what you want to hear until they mess everything up!!!

* Pros: Pretty Dresses
* Cons: Expensive, Hidden Charges, Manipulative Staff

a Happy Ending
My guest and I had the grilled Sea Bass. You can't really go wrong with Sea Bass, when it is fresh. The Bass was fresh on this summer afternoon. Our waitress was a little slip of a girl named Elizabeth, studying nursing at the university. I was immediately attracted to her and she blushed as my hand grazed wistfully across her hand as she extened the wine glasses. Jerome was not pleased with my advance, but soon came to except my appreciation for the lass. The vegetable medley was a bit disappointing.....as was the wine. But then, it was my friend that incorrectly chose the merlot to clash with the sea bass. I said "Thank you Liz" as she handed me the check. She was clearly shaken by my strong features and self assured manner. I so wanted to reassure her....but of course....there was Jerome. So I grabbed the check and went to ask her a question about the total......at least that was what Jerome thought. She agreed to meet me later .....and did. Three bottles of Pinot and four egyption cotton towels later.....:).....the universe was in balance.

Oh yes......I shall return to Francois's for the Sea Bass....oh yes.

I can definitely relate to some other comments. I went to the salon with printouts of dresses i wanted to see. One of the salesgirls took the photos, pulled the dresses they had & wrote in the prices on my printouts. I fell in love with one dress & decided to purchase it. I paid for the dress & with all the excitement of finding "the" dress I didnt noticed they had charged me more than what the price the salesgirl had written on my printout ($1000 more). When i confronted them they said they made a mistake & wrote the wrong price on the printout. I was surprised that the owner did not try to help me & honor the price they had given me. On tv I see that many brides negotiate the price for their dress & i never did that, i just accepted the price she wrote down & didnt ask for any discount. Since they hadnt initially discounted the dress, i would have thought she would at least honor their mistake. Then when i went with my bridesmaids, they did the same thing. The salesgirl wrote down a price for them on a business card & when it was time to pay, charged them something else. Their excuse this time was that i chose a different fabric that was more expensive. I told them why would they give me a price for another fabric if they were the ones that showed me which colors i could choose from. I had to change the fabric & color since i didnt want my bridesmaids to pay more. After spending $7000 on my dress, i would think they would have been able to help us out here. NO! I had to beg them to send my a swatch of the other fabric so i could approve the change, which at first they told me they never send swatches. As if i hadnt learned my lesson, when it came down to my alterations, what a surprise, the same thing happened again. The seamstress initally told me one price & when they charged me, she said she added wrong & it was really more. I own a business myself & would never treat a customer like this. I can not recommend them to any bride. I was so stressed with the wedding planning & having to travel from out of town to my alteration appointments that i let them get away with all this crap. Now, however, i would never go back.

Another friend of mine was planning her wedding at the same time & ordered her bridesmaids dresses there too. Her experience was just as bad. They ordered the wrong size for her maid of honor, a size too small & the MOH was from houston & had to get someone to alter the dress for her from houston because they told her it was too late to reorder another dress.

I suggest they try to re-evaluate their business process because they are definitely lacking in customer service, & fall very short in efficancy & making the experience a positive one. Needless to say, my crying moment when i found the dress was not one of excitement & joy, but dissappointment & frustration for being deceived by a wrong price tag!!!

I'm getting married in November and really liked a collection
I'm getting married in November and really liked a collection Bridal Salon of SA carries. From the first time I walked in the salon there was no customer service. I made an appointment time two weeks before and I still had to wait 20 minutes for any assistance. The girl who helped me presented herself poorly, didn't seem like she knew what she was doing and cared less if I had a nice bridal dress shopping experience. I went back for a second time only because they were the only salon in SA who carried the dress I knew I wanted. The second time I went I tried on the dress one last time and decided to take a chance on the salon & purchase the dress. That's when the bomb shell was dropped. The dress had been discontinued for a few months. Why the girl who was helping me didn't know that important information & didn't do her research is beyond me. The sample dress wasn't the color I had wanted but they offered the dress at a really good price. I decided it was too good of a price for that dress to pass up, otherwise I would have walked out and never gone back.

I then tried to see if their recommended seamstress was of better service. Nope! She too could care less if my experience was pleasant and talked about how lazy she was that day, very unprofessional. At that point I took my dress and ran. I will not use their seamstress. I told the owner what poor customer service and how unprofessionally her salon was being represented.

Hopefully they will train their sales consultants on professionalism, customer service & require appropriate attire so future brides won't be left with a horrible bridal dress shopping experience.
