We LOVE Dr. Schlanger !!!!
Our family has been bringing our 4 dogs to Dr. Kevin Schlanger for many years. We have never been happier with a veterinarian than we are with him. Our dogs aren't even afraid of him! He has provided the most excellent care and always with a reassuring smile and great sense of humor.
He is 100% in favor of rescuing dogs, and even brings his own rescued dogs with physical handicaps to work with him every day. One of them, named Foxy, is a tiny mutt with a leg which bends backwards at the knee. Dr. Schlanger is a loving and very caring professional, towards all animals and their owners.
A few years ago it became necessary to euthanize our very old French Bulldog. She had been extremely sick, was deaf, blind and unable to move. My family was in tears when we brought her in. Dr. Schlanger helped us dramatically with our decision, reassuring us that it was an appropriate step to take based on her old age and completely deteriorated condition, and he gave us plenty of time to digest his words, and ask questions. At no time did I ever find him to be anything less than kind, knowledgeable and with great patience and understanding towards our loss. We will always be indebted to him for helping us through that most difficult of times.
I cannot recommend this veterinarian or his staff highly enough!!

Prescribing dog medication to cats? Never going back.
My cat has been a patient at Brent Air Animal Hospital for several years. The male vet has been patient, seemingly diligent and I can usually get a quick appointment, but the support staff is so rude that I dread speaking to them as I check in and out!

My last visit has sent me looking for a new vet. The female vet prescribed the medication Comfortis (a flea medication only approved for Dogs at this time) for my CAT, telling me she personally uses it on her cats and its fine. Well, it turns out that according to many reviews online, small dogs are having seizures and worse from this medication. There is no way I'm using my cat as a test animal.

I rely on my vet to give me the best possible advice about how to care for my cat. I could never return to Brent Air with 100% confidence.

Go elsewhere by Ettie S. at InsiderPages
I have to echo previous reviewers who've commented on this clinic's lack of responsiveness. After my dog had a seizure in September and another one in October, Dr. Schlanger ordered $200 worth of tests, but never called me with the results. I left many messages which he claimed, when I finally spoke with him THREE weeks later, that he had never received. So maybe it's just an abysmal office staff that doesn't pass on messages. But on the other hand when Dr. Schlanger did finally talk with me about the test results, he said that he'd get back to me the next day about one question -- but never called me again, despite repeated calls on my part. I don't think that's just the fault of the office staff.

I've realized that it's time to move on. I've found another vet who, in response to one visit about a dermatology condition, has called me twice, unsolicited, with helpful follow-up. That's the kind of vet you want to have -- someone you can count on. Which, sadly, I did not find to be the case at Brent Air.

The BEST vet in Los Angeles!! by Andrea N. at InsiderPages
Brent-Air is the BEST place to take your dog or cat!! I rescued my puppy from the local shelter and Brent Air not only gave me GREAT rates, they also went above and beyond to make sure all the paper work was in copied and in order. I have been in a couple of times when they have been very busy. However, the receptionist always try there very best to make sure all my needs and dogs needs are meet. I have seen both Dr.Oxford and Dr.Schlanger and I must say they are highly educated and talented vets! I would trust either one in a emergency. Overall, the staff is sweet and kind and highly educated with there services! Thank you Brent-Air for making sure my dog is always taken care of!
