Great Book Store by Andy F. at InsiderPages
I agree with all the other reviewers that this is a great used bookstore. It is large, clean and well organized and has a wide variety of material. I came in one day and found a whole collection of books on a topic I was interested in and bought the lot. The owner gave me a significant price break which I appreciate very much. It's worth spending a few hours just strolling through the stacks. You never know what you'll find. I try to pop in at least once a month. Parking is available in the Glendale public lot just behind the store as well as the catch-as-can meters on Brand Boulevard.

Great for finding older books by Kelly B. at InsiderPages
I have really enjoyed my trips to the Brand Bookshop. I love going through shelves and shelves of older books, trying to find hidden treasures. This shop was very helpful when I was searching specifically for Armenian books as well. Some of the prices seemed expensive but overall this is a great bookstore. I didn't realize that you could search their inventory online so that is a great addition to the shop.

Cozy by Tracie T. at InsiderPages
I had totally forgotten about this bookstore until a review of it flashed by on the front page of Insider Pages! How fortunate! I went by the other day and it is just as I remember; welcoming, interesting, and -fascinating-. The prices aren't Amazon-like but they are gosh darn low for ecclectic and hard to find books that span across a gigantic range of subjects! Highly recommended!

awesome bookstore-- great prices by amanda s. at InsiderPages
Reduce Reuse Recycle! Get awesome books at great prices and trade 'em in later to make space for more books! The owner and the staff here know everything! The setting is so welcoming too. Once through the door you are greeted by a Japanese bamboo water fountain, trickling softly along. They also have used cds and tapes and records (for die-hard collectors). My favorite section is the poetry section-- so often so paltry at used book stores (one book of Rumi and a Shakespear maybe), here, there are four shelves full of new voices to discover at great prices!

Love This Bookstore! by Dana F. at InsiderPages
I lived in Glendale for 12 years and never got tired of a trip to Brand Books. The selection is ecclectic and extensive, it's organized by subject and then alphabetized by the author's last name for quick and easy searches (and it's amazing how many used bookstores don't bother with that), the staff helpful and knowledgeable, each with their own areas of expertise. They're also dog friendly; I used to take my medium sized rottweiler/aussie shepard mix inside while I browsed.

Prices are always reasonable at the Brand - most are half off the cover price and they have a very reasonable 'hold' policy if you need it. You can sell books for either cash or trade - trade is always a better bargain, not usually an issue for bibliophiles.

The only genre that the Brand doesn't really stock is Chicklit, so if you're looking for a light-hearted romp about a 20 or 30-something gal searching for love and the right pair of Manolo Blahnik shoes, go down the street to Borders.
