As a result of Brake Check’s general business practices and work performed on my son’s 2000 GMC Yukon at their South Loop W location in Houston, their gross negligence led directly to his death and the tragic death of two other young adults on August 8, 2004. In connection with a civil suit I brought against Brake Check, we discovered that the company failed to follow industry standards in assembling the rear brakes and bleeding the hydraulic brake system of the GMC Yukon. The combination of numerous errors and omissions by Brake Check led to a major accident only 12 days later and resulted in three deaths. Brake Check conceded their gross negligence in this accident by settling the law suit. More recent reviews of other Brake Check stores indicate that the company has not changed its business practices at all. For your own safety and that of your loved ones, do not do business with Brake Check. If I could rate the company with zero stars on City Search I would do so.
