You see Box Appliance trucks all over La Jolla. I believe it's because they are the only manufacturer approved servicers of Sub Zero and Wolf appliances. Somehow, we got a letter in the mail suggesting it was time to clean out the top part (behind the grille, I can't remember what it's called) of the Sub Zero. They did it for $125. It is something we could totally do but we'd never done it before so had them come out. The guy took the time to show my husband and I how to do it ourselves. He didn't need to do that, because that could have been more business for them otherwise.

I will tell you that I had them come out one time and their basic service charge is steep. But they are good and it's probably worth it. I can't remember the price but remember thinking "ooph" at the time.

I agree with everything said about Box Appliance being rip-off artists. They are also arrogant crooks who have a monopoly on all Sub zero repair in San Diego so they gouge eveybody and there is nothing you can do. The closest other Sub zero repair companies are in El Centro and San Fernando Valley and they will not come to San Diego. Sub zero should be ashamed to align themselves with such bad guys.‎

These guys will work their way into your house, then charge you $500+ per hour for labor. AVOID THEM. As soon as they arrive at your doorstep, you are already $100 in the hole (they charge that just for showing up). Then, if you have even the tiniest problem with your appliance you will be charged a HUGE AMOUNT. (My 1 hour repair cost me $500 + parts). Yes, they are endorsed by Wolf and Subzero. No, they are not nice guys. They will RAPE YOU. I suggest searching out other appliance repair companies on Yelp. Good luck.‎
