The Borders in Metarie is everything one wants from a Borders: clean, well stocked, and huge. There is no shortage of great local bookstores in New Orleans, but there are circumstances where one might need to visit a place like this, particularly if it's after 5 pm or you'd like to have coffee while you browse. Borders stays open until 11. They do have a huge selection, being 2 story, and they also offer a large comics and manga section. For my part, this is the corporate bookstore my husband and I patronize most often, as much for its convenience as its selection.
