Booksmarts is hands down my favorite place to shop for used books, the owner, a friendly guy named Mike is phenomenal about not only, knowing what he has in stock off the top of his head, but is also happy to give suggestions. One of my favorite things about this store, other than the awesome selection on a variety of subjects is the price- most books are between $4-$10 which is fantastic compared to some *other* used bookstores in St. Louis that charge an arm and a leg for a book they have six copies of and have had for YEARS according to some dated price stickers. Personally, I'm a fan of Trade Paperbacks, as a collector, I find books that I'm looking for in hardback and buy them, even though they're not exactly what I'm looking for. One day, while browsing at Booksmarts, I told Mike that I had been all over the place trying to find a trade paperback of a book I had been looking for and could only find Hardback, and so I bought it anyway, lo and behold, Booksmarts HAD the book I wanted in trade paperback! I explained the situation to Mike and he said he'd be happy to take my hardbook trade for trade for his tradepaperback. This was one of the best customer service experiences I've ever had and while I'll admit that I still browse other bookstores on occasion, Booksmarts is where I go for ALL my used books now. =o)

The new location of booksmarts rocks! They've even got free wifi, chairs outside, and a reading nook to preview your buys. I would recommend this place to anyone that loves to browse great books. The owner, Mike, is also super helpful if you are looking for something in particular.‎

The owner is helpful and friendly, the books are well organized, the price is right and on the rare occassion I can't find what I'm looking for he usually ends up finding it for me in a matter of days! You never know what you'll stumble across from rare finds to my favorite authors in paper back. Cool art can be had here too! Check in often. They get new things in every day!

Small but very comfortable and attractive with art (nice touch). Very good military history section and children's too. Two other resale shops in the shopping center (Wombat's = girls, women's and some men's plus Kangaroo Kids = infants and children) make for a very good shopping experience.‎
