This is a great place for me to pick up an armload of books at a great price! I even found a few books for my kid to read. Fabulous place shop for gifts the readers in your family. The staff has always been helpful and friendly.

I am so glad I found this bookstore. Although it only deals in paperback books, it is perfect for me. I was spending a fortune at half-priced books for a lot of the paperbacks I was reading. Then I would get nothing back for them. At Book Exchange, you just bring in your used paperbacks and they set you up with a users card indicating how many books you brought in. In exchange you can get the same number of books for 25% of the list price.

They don't buy any books, except for a few exceptions like Sci-Fi and Fantasy, which you get about 10-15% of the list price. You don't have to buy any books that day, as they keep your card on file. Also you can buy the books about 50% of the cover price without exchanging any books.

This is a great alternative to half priced books as it is a lot cheaper. Also for me sometimes I like to hold on to books, so it works out better than the library.

They give you 75% off of the book price if you bring a book to trade...and they accept every paperback you bring even if they have overstocks. Every book is shelved (not just the high-priced ones) so you can find tons of books for 25 cents. It's the best deal in Austin. The Sci-Fi and Romance sections are huge.
