I ate lunch here and sampled 4 sushi rolls, all excellent. I love sushi and could eat it everyday. My mom is Japanese and I've eaten in some of the best restaurants in Tokyo. I know my sushi. I've heard other people rave about this place too.

My favorite was the La Jolla Roll which has seared ahi on top, spicy salmon and cucumber on the inside, all sitting in a light mustard sauce. If you're gluten free or trying to go low carb there are a ton of options for you. The Sexy Roll is just fish, avocado and crab wrapped in cucumber. It's light and refreshing.

I thought that the menu was very reasonably priced for the location. There are have kids menu options which I intend to try and they give away the training chopsticks too. Our waiter was also incredibly energetic and nice. He shared with us his favorite rolls and how he orders them.

UPDATE: I helped host an event here a few weeks ago. They did not deliver what they promised in terms of enough staff to service people in attendance. People were complaining, waiting around for drinks, and it was borderline embarrassing. I'm not sure I will go back, though the sushi was good.

I tried Bluefin Fusion Restaurant in UTC for the first time a few days ago. Me and a few friends went for happy hour after hearing several friends give this place rave reviews. The sushi was pretty good, my favorite was the mucho hungry roll. However, I was ultimately disappointed with the price of happy hour. Their deal of 50% off of rolls only applied to the basic rolls, which were nothing really spectacular. I guess the only good deal is the drinks, where you buy one and get the second one for 1 cent. However, the happy hour prices on the sushi just doesn't compare to other places. We ended up paying 40+ for just 3 people, which is alright for sushi normally. But for happy hour, I guess I just kind of expected a little more.

Finally! A decent sushi place in the UTC area! No longer do I have to make up for lackluster sushi by pickling my liver with cheap sake and beer specials. Happy hour is the time to go, with half off basic rolls and 2-for-1 drinks.

I had been getting most of my sushi in Pacific Beach, but it took my parents coming from northern California to introduce me to this sushi joint right in my backyard. Although it sort of has a strip mall feel from the outside, this place is anything but once you walk in the door. They have beautiful decor and a menu with a lot of variety (although you may need to bring glasses to read the fine print, and I did miss the picture menus other places have, I shop with my eyes). The service is excellent, and I have never had trouble getting a table at lunch or dinner. If you have room, try the tempura ice cream. Took my sister here we had drinks, a few rolls and split dessert for less than $50.

I loved the sushi here but I have been to Ota and it's hard to beat the greatest.
