Binswanger made huge error and refused to fix it
Our contractor (we are currently remodeling parts of our house) uses them for glass - bad choice.

They mis-measured our figures (the glass had to be exact to fit our table, and we provided the measurements). They did not cut the glass to the measurements provided. When this was called to their attention, they acknowledged the error.

However, they refused to refund our money or to fix it free of charge. 'Management' said the only option was to pay to fix it, even though it was their error.

What a poor policy. If they continue like this, they will not receive our business, or our neighbors, as well as that of our contractor.
Price Range: $500 - $750

Had to do the job three times!
Regrettably somebody came along in the middle of the night and destroyed both my windshield and back glass. Completely obliterated, so I would need them all new. I decided to go with Binswanger because my dad said it was a reputable business. I believe it ended up being over $400 total, which I was expecting. Since my windshield was shattered and couldn't drive, they came to me. The man fixed it in my driveway in a couple of hours, I paid, and that was that.

Until it rained. The windshield leaked so bad that water seeped through the roof and soaked my passenger seat and floor. I was driving it and water was dripping from the roof. Ridiculous. So I call them and tell them they need to do it again and they tell me I have to bring it to them because they do not have the proper tools to come out and fix it. Why...they put a whole new one in at my house previously! I didn't understand why I had to drive 20 miles to them but they refused to come to my house even though they did shoddy work. Then when I went to pick it up she said all they did was "add more sealant". How could you not do that in someone's driveway??? So I said ok, its fixed? Yep!

Until it rained again. Same leak, same place. I was livid. I took it back and made them re-do the whole thing, free of charge. Thank goodness I was able to borrow a car to go to work otherwise I would have lost 3 days.

All in all: Didn't do it right the first two times!

They came out and did the glass, but after closely examining the glass it is cracked. We are contacting them today to see if this can be resolved.

Don't knock Binswanger for someone for your poor judgement
Regarding the lastest post by sklambert: are you an idiot. You love Binswanger, but decided to use a "3rd party" that refused to allow you to use Binswanger products (which you said you "love"). This "3rd party" vendor screwed up the job, refused to fix it, cost you money and, remind me, who are you blaming....Binswanger Management? I don't get it......

I suppose then, if I use your logic and reverse it, the scenario would look like this: if I were to utilize Binswanger for my work, AND they do a GREAT job, then this unnamed "3rd Party" should get the credit because I hate them for all the bad work they've done for me in the past. Moron....

nice people, great service
my local hardware store could not provide me with a piece of replacement glass for a picture frame, and they referred me to binswanger....not only did they cut the glass for me immediately, but they didn't even charge me for it because it was such a small job....AND they were friendly to my dogs!! i will DEFINITELY go back to them for any future glass/mirror needs (even if it's not 'free'!)....true customer service and consideration is a rare thing these days, and i always remember any place where i find that....
