To begin, this is the first time I have EVER written a comment online. I am purely motivated by the harsh review I read about Dr. Biederman. I'm sorry that the parent who wrote it had a bad experience but my guess is that there must have been some miscommunication since her experience was completely different than any I ever had over the eight years my children had Dr. Biederman. That said, I strongly recommend Dr. Biederman as a pediatrician. I first learned about her through my brother-in-law who worked with her at Cedars and felt she was the best he'd seen. When I was almost ready to deliver my first child in 1996, I interviewed Dr. Biederman before the delivery. Immediately I was struck by her compassion, intelligence and mild manner. On the day my son was born at Cedars, Dr. Biederman visited us in the hospital room within an hour of his birth. She took plenty of time and made sure everything was just right. She also coached me on how to nurse and gave me solid advice on what to do as a new mom. I was equally impressed two years later when my daughter was born and we received the same great attention. She was available to me with my questions and understood my being such a nervous new mom. My children loved her and even though we moved over an hour away when my kids were 6 and 4, we continued to commute to see her for a couple of years and even to this day send her a Christmas card. In fact, right now I was on line to get her phone number since I'm in the process of leaving an HMO for the sole purpose of once again having Dr. B. as my children's doctor. I will certainly pay more for a PPO and I'm sure the hour plus commute from Huntington Beach will be hard for doctor's visits, but the time and money will be well spent to once again have this remarkable doctor caring for my children. After a total of about eight years with Dr. Aviva Biederman, I have had only great experiences with her and I'm looking forward to many more in the future.

I have two girls that Dr. Ouchi (works in Dr. Biederman's practice) treated since birth and we absolutely loved Dr. Ouchi which is why we continued to make the hour long commute to see her after we moved. She has seen us through everything from colds to UTIs. She is always had great advice both medical and developmental for us. And if we were doing something different than she advised (for example bed times) she respected our decisions and would advise us accordingly. The really unique thing about Dr. Ouchi was how my girls responded to her. They always let her examine them and were never scared. Last thing - you can call the on call doctor anytime and they will return your call within the hour - this has saved us a couple of ER trips. Dr. Miller in this office is also really good too.

We had an AWFUL EXPERIENCE with Dr. Biederman. She put our child back in the NICU for 2 days because she did not give us any information at the hospital. Then when we called her, she NEVER returned our phone calls.

She has forgotten what it is like to be a new parent and makes you feel like you don't matter and treats everyone like they have to fit into the mould.

Dr. Biederman is a great pediatrician. She has been the pediatrician for my 2 boys since they were born, and the oldest is now almost 3. She is a very caring Dr. and makes sure all of your questions are answered. She is very observant and is quick to refer them if they need it, as was the case when my 2nd son kept vomitting at 6 weeks. He had pyloric stenosis and she made sure Radiology saw him immediately there at Cedars Sinai. He had surgery the next day. All went well and I am very greatful for that. She is recommended all the way.
