It's Chinatown
Usually, Chinese kids are very smart people. The logic in choosing this center might be that a tutoring place for predominantly Chinese students would be very rigorous and helpful, such as the Best Educational Center in Chinatown. This could not be further from the truth.
I'm in high school right now and this program does/ did not help me at all. The tutors are underqualified (mostly college students and even a high school student!) and they sometimes do stuff they're not supposed to do like read magazines and other stuff, which is annoying when they're supposed to be teaching. BUT, I wouldn't blame them since one said they get paid near minimum wage and that there aren't any benefits in working there, only benefits for the owner and the receptionist (his mom). I used to go to Kumont and that was a LOT better than this place.
IT was more organized and structured. This place just hands you a worksheet and asks u to call them when u have any questions. It is very boring since they just give a worksheet and say off you go. This is not very inspiring. I don't like how the tutors are so boring too. They seem so dead and think they're smart when they don't even know the answers sometimes. It's very loud and I couldn't do my work a lot of the times since no one would tell those obnoxious children to be quiet. The owner is not doing a good job running the place. He is creating a disorganized, monotonous place that takes money and gives photocopied worksheets in return: I did not learn anything new and if I did not very well. If anyone has watched the movie "Chinatown," the guy at the end says "It's Chinatown," saying how it's a confusing place. This is like this tutoring place. Spend your money elsewhere.
