In January 2005, Bertolli Auto Body repaired a small dent in the right rear door of my Honda Accord. Bertolli's was not on our insurance company's authorized list - BIG MISTAKE.

In June of 2010 while washing my car I noticed several paint cracks in this repair area. There was no evidence of an external cause for these cracks, so I took the car to Bertolli for repair under the Lifetime Written Warranty. Laura Bertolli, President, refused to make the repair under the warranty. When the damaged area was opened up by another body shop, the following shoddy workmanship was exposed:
1. Excessive Bondo: The manufacture specification says that Bondo thickness should not exceed 1/4 inch. However, pictures from the 2010 repair disclose that Bertolli Auto Body applied Bondo in excess of 1/2 inch or twice the maximum thickness specified by the manufacture. It is my understanding that the actual amount of Bondo applied to my Honda is 5-times the thin layer generally used.
2. Interior Bracing: Pictures revealed massive amounts of adhesive material cementing the interior frame to the metal panel of the car door. I claim the reason for application of adhesive to the interior door is that the weight of the Bondo required additional support for it.
3. Replacement of Rusted Door Panel: Once the Bondo was removed from the metal door panel, pictures show rusted metal in the repair area. Clearly Bertolli Auto Body did not comply with manufacture specification requiring the area to be clean and free of contaminants, which over time will induce corrosion of the metal. The rusty door panel required replacement.

A good paint job can conceal shoddy workmanship, so I learned my lesson the hard way; pick your auto body shop from the list supplied by the insurance company, especially if you plan to keep your car. Then if you have problems with the work, your insurance company is responsible for the repair.

My mistake was that I used an unauthorized body shop like Bertolli and relied upon their worthless warranty

I have had two differnt cars repaired at Bertollis Autobody. Both times The repairs and service were beyond my expectations. I was very pleased and reccomend them to anyone!!

I have taken My car to Bertollis A couple times for repairs. I am always please with thier service and the quality of the repairs done to my car. I have had a 10,000 dollar repair job done to my Mercedes and when i got it back..it was better then new!
