Eh...just so-so
I ended up at Bellacures due to citysearch's raving endorsement. I got a same day appointment easily enough for a Tuesday night. Parking wasn't a problem, mostly because it was after 6 on a week night. They weren't busy, and the place was essentially empty. Just two other women getting something done. I got a regular mani-pedi. Nothing too fancy, but not the "mini" versions of their services either. The guy that did my nails was friendly. I'm not much for talking while getting my nails done, but he tried to make polite conversation.
So, the good: the place is clean. New files and brushes opened up for each client. I got to take the files and brush home (not really sure what I'll do with them though). Tools were also right out of the sterilizer packaging. The pedicure was more thorough than the manicure. He took his time. Didn't try to upsell me on any special treatments. The massage was very good, if a little short. They gave me a discount even though I wasn't a "member."
The not so good: maybe the disposable files are good to prove your place is clean, but they weren't the greatest quality files. My nails ended up a little rough on the underside either because the file was too rough or the tech was too rushed with the manicure. My big toe nail broke yesterday because a rough edge snagged on my sock. The cut and shape job on my hands was not great. Uneven and the corners were too sharp (granted, I could have spoken up about this at the time). My pedicure has already chipped. I think the polish was applied too thickly.
Basically, it was okay. I would have expected more for the price/hype. They make a really big deal about how clean they are. Which is great, but really, they should invest a little more effort into making the end product as good as their cleaning habits.
