Fast and Good!
After walking Hollywood Blvd looking for a restaurant prior to my movie, my friend and I walked into this neighborhood jewel. There were quite a lot of people dining there that evening, but we were lucky and snagged a table. I had the chopped bella salad with greens, salami, mozzarella, balsamic, avocado and my friend the roasted eggplant parmiggiano appetizers, which I had to snag from him because it was so delicious. For our main courses he had the duet of salmon and halibut, which I think is a nice twist to offer both in one dish, and I had the gorgonzola dolce cheese crusted medallions of beef with a comforting parmesan risotto. The risotto was a little salty, I think from the use of grana padano cheese, but contrasted harmoniously with the sweetness of the blue cheese. We shared a bottle of Luigi Righetti Amarone at only $60, which is unheard of in price for such Venetian libations!, but was a steal for it's youthful maturity, impeccable taste and medium body. Our fast server Beth was a complete rockstar! When I am in Hollywood again I will for sure re-visit the diamond in the rough.
