I agree good selection, knowledgeable staff, friendly, helpful and if they don't seem to have what your looking for, they will do a little research to try to find it. But, I don't agree with the trade in value that is paid for used books. Too low, might as well haul your well read treasures to Berkshire Books the owner is fair and if you choose store credit its at a substantially higher amount.

This large bookstore has discounted new bestsellers as well as a huge selection of used paperback and hardcover fiction. The staff is very helpful and friendly. I like history and entertainer books, and they have big sections of these. There is an enclosed kid's section in the front of the store. I commute to my job, and buy their used audio books on CD at half-price, and they nearly always buy them back from me when I am done with them. They will call their other store when they don't have what I want in Concord, and have the book sent to Concord for me. I love to browse in this comfortable setting while listening to their background music, a mix of classics, jazz, and easy listening.

I like most of the changes at my favorite indie. There's more books and a lot of the crap is gone but I have had some bad experiences with someone who works there sometimes. She is loud and pushy and never lets you finish a sentence before she interrupts you. The rest of the people there know the books and help you if you want help and respect you if you are just looking but I don't go in if I see that this woman is there. It just isn't worth the hassle.

PROS: good books and good prices
CONS: one person who can really ruin your visit
