Nice store, but a bit busy
It's a nice "get-away" from the overally crazyness of 86th st. I often take my daughter to the kids section, which as a big area to sit and read. The cafe seems to always be packed, and very difficult to find a seat. The bathrooms are surprisingly clean

Even though Barnes and Noble is a book store, it is actually sort of like the opposite of a book store. I once went to Barnes and Noble because I needed to buy The Odyssey for my 10th grade English class, and when I asked a salesperson where I could find it, she asked me who it was by. Homer, I replied. I need to know the author's LAST name, she snapped impatiently. I'm not making this up. Also, once I was looking for the feminist magazine Bitch and I found it in the Pets and Animals section of the magazine racks.
