Ehhh
I like Barns & Nobel, and I do shop there sometimes. I recommend it for people that like to buy their books in town. But for me, I'm better off just buying books on Amazon.
B&N has a large selection of books, but it's not stuff that I'm interested in. I like to read books about economics, philosophy, and mathematics. These sections are very small in B&N and getting smaller. If you you're looking for Bibles or novels, then B&N is great. But B&N's nonfiction sections isn't as strong and it's getting weaker all the time.
Prices aren't super good either. Usually you have to pay the price written on the book. There are some deals on best selling books, and stuff they want to get rid of but that's pretty much it. Even if you become a B&N member, you won't be buying books for anywhere near as cheap as you would on Amazon (even once you factor in shipping).
I'll give a few positives. Everyone that works at B&N is nice. Also, the place is clean and the books are usually in good shape. There's also a good section of CDs.
