the place is homeless central
Everywhere you go in the store is a homeless person or a customer that smells. Smells and Im three feet away. I walked into the bathroom which is disgusting. 90% of the staff has no knowledge of book, probaly because everytime I go in there they have hired someone new. When I did buy something I was held up from leaving because the worker had to insist I buy the discount card. At the cafe I was ignored because two girls were talking before helping me out, when I asked if I could get a bagel from the back I got attitude. The music and DVDs are way overpriced, I have no idea why anyone would ever buy either of those there. Barnes and Noble has turned into the WAL MART of book stores, instead a Mcdonalds they have a Starbucks, and instead of ordinary everyday things they have overpriced books and overpriced music/DVDs. Save yourself some time Go to AMAZON!

Great Atmosphere by Sandi L. at InsiderPages
The Staff was friendly and helpful. I did not have to wait long to get the information I needed. The store was very clean and inviting. They have a great coffee cafe you can relax at and check out your new book.

A lesser known Barnes & Noble by Margaret D. at InsiderPages
This store is always less busy than the La Mesa one, which is a blessing for those who like to browse in relative silence. You can also find plenty of staff to help you. The downside is they don't have many events going on.

Books by Alana T. at InsiderPages
Most everyone is familar with Barnes and Noble. My family and I like it because we can go there as a family and there is something for everyone. There childrens selection is huge. They have music, a wide choice of magazines, and books galore. The staff is helpful and will even order something if what you are looking for isn't there. They have Starbucks inside. Parking is ok. They have a very big selection of sale books. They also specialize in journals, cards, and gifts. IT's a great place to go just to hang, to get that book you've been looking for, or to shop for a friend.

Excellent Selection by Kim S. at InsiderPages
Barnes and Nobles has a wide variety of books and magazines on every subject. There are plenty of places to sit, chill, and read magazines. Employees are nice and friendly, and parking is convenient. I would definitely recommend this place.
