One of the Family by D. M. at InsiderPages
'Dr. Jack' is a one-of-a-kind vet, who has a unique love of animals. I have been taking my pets to him for 10 years. When my Brittany, Randy, was sick with kidney disease, he was honest with me and stated that he was 'afraid that this is life-ending.' He did everything in his power to make Randy's last couple of months as comfortable as possible. When we had to put him down, Dr. Taylor and I were in the examining room, crying. It was quick and painless. A few days later, I received a hand-written letter of condolences from him.Over the years, he has worked less due to illness, but I still take my dogs to his practice. I have a female brittany/austrailian shepherd mix who has epilepsy, and they take great care of her. She is now sick, and I hope pulls through. His associate vet, Dr. Michelle Huey, called me at 8:00 pm, with lab results from my female. She wanted me to bring her in to stay over-night due to pancreatitis. She was STILL there with several of the staff, waiting for us. I was impressed that they were working so late, and knew without question, that she would be treated like one of the family.Hoping and praying for the best. Thanks Barnes Mills Animal Hospital staff!Sincerely,D. Martin
