First time taking my dog to a groomer, so I took the recommendation of my vet and went here. When I brought him in I asked to see the set up, as the work area is blocked off from view by a 6' wall. I got the most incredulous look, and a very standoffish reply, and I had to insist that I had to see where my dog was going to be worked on. What dog-lover wouldn't give a dog-owner a "peace of mind" tour of the facilities??
This place is okay as far as set-up, cleanliness, but they didn't even ask me for my dogs yearly vaccination paperwork -- isn't that important??
And once I got my dog home, I noticed that he wasn't properly groomed, he still had a lot of fur on him, and every time he used the restroom -- guess what ended up on his fur [ ugh] .. so I had to clean my dog AGAIN and AGAIN, which defeats the purpose of them washing him for me.
Basically, after I take him back to be re-trimmed, I'm going to just pay more at Petco.

I have a small, older dog who's partially blind (can be a biter) and I have been taking him to the Barking Lot since 2003. They take special care to ensure he doesnt become too stressed during the grooming process by working very slowly to brush out his mats, clip his nails, cut his hair and towel dry him as opposed to the blower. Every person in that shop is a true animal lover and I find the prior review extremely hard to believe; they take great pride in their work and are very accomodating to any requests. I would highly recommend them to anyone with special needs pets such as mine or any person in general looking for great, fast & friendly service. I personally recommend all my friends and family there and even bought a poodle pup for my niece from the owner!

So I just got a dog and didn't know where to take it. well, I went in and saw so many people there so I thoght it must be ok. Well I left my dog it was all good. BUT THEN!!..... the groomer thought I left and the next thing you know she was cursing at the dog she was grooming because it was crying and then she popped it over the head!!!
