I am a BOA customer in California. Perhaps the person who has had such a terrible experience has never had real BOA service, having Nations instead. Just calling something Bank of America does not make it so. I have had nothing but wonderful service.
My experiences with BofA have been horrible. They have exorbitant fees, your account is being controlled by a large institution that has no interest in you but your money and how much in fees they can charge you. Their customer service is like speaking to robots. They are all trained to say the exact thing with regards to any questions asked. If you think the bank is in error, forget it. BofA is never in error people. They will take advantage of you in every way possible and make you think they are there for you. Go to a small local bank with more friendly service and a concern for your interest. Don't let behemoth BofA control you and your money!

I went $1.38 overdraft and these &*%#@ charged me $35. I'm insulted! The way I see it Americas taxpayers dollars that could go to repair roads and to better our schools instead went to help them pay an executives $20M bonus. The executive of the company that was failing and the same company the CEO of BoA bought. Who is now lying that he did not know the company was in such bad shape. If he didn't know before he spent billions to buy the company then he is just pure ignorant. Now he is getting taxpayers money to bail them out. I suggest any BoA account holders to do business with another bank. If Bank of America remains Bank of America, the largest bank in America then I am ashamed of America.
This bank took my deposit and would not release my money for three weeks. I had an emergency where I needed the money being held so that I could purchase gas to get to work. Did they care? No! Did they offer to help me? No. They took my money and held it when I needed it. That is nothing less than corporate stealing. Take my advice, if you want your money when you need it, without restriction, do not bank with Bank of America.
