If you are looking for a cut and color from a hungover, lipgloss reapplying, inattentive stylist sporting the worst of 80s new wave fashion, this is the place for you. I actually had a woman override my hair color choice without telling me, and I ended up getting exactly what I did NOT want. When I told her that I did, in fact, know what I was talking about, she argued with me and told me that I was breaking the laws of color. I even wrote the manager a letter afterwards and never heard a word back.

They'll keep you waiting and then they'll ignore you when you're finally in their chair. Do yourself a favor. Skip it.

I heard a lot of positive reviews about this place. And this salon certainly came to my expectations. I was clearly impressed with the professional service, very attentive and considerate. I was helped by Bruce and he gave me an excellent haircut and really amazing highlights. My hair looks fantastic. Two thumbs up for Bang!

I went to this salon after seeing it written up in numerous magazines. It seems almost too good to be true, but while it has the atmosphere of a MUCH pricier place--thumping music, young, fashionable staff, city setting--the average cut is only $35. The other plus with a less expensive place is that the people who work here don't come off as snobby, which can happen at some of the chicer salons if you aren't lucky. The staff is friendly and talkative and happy to let you know what works well for your hair. I am hesitant to post the name of the stylist I saw, if only because it already takes a week and a half to get an appointment. (Ask for Angela.)

Bang is a great deal--where else can you get a quality women's haircut for just $35 in DC? The salon itself is small and the decor is urban and cool, with lots of chrome and light wood. Vera has always given me a great haircut. The salon stays open late and offers other services, too (coloring, hair removal, manicures, etc.). You can even make appointments online through their website. Highly recommended!

I'm very picky about my haircuts, but i threw in the towel and got a cut done here after seeing my best friend's. I tried Bang on U Street and LOVED it - both for color and cut, it was like my hairstylist read my mind. All of the people that leave there look great, so I highly recommend giving them a try. Don't let their tattoos and dyed hair fool you - they all seem very good.
