I chose Dr. Heap after reading some favorable reviews online and since her office was located close to my house, I figured I would give it a shot. I have been her patient for almost a year and have been disappointed by the service. When I met with her for a physical last year, she claimed she was the type of doctor who would call to discuss lab results with her patients, rather than just send the results to the patient and let them decipher on their own. It's been almost a year, and I'm still waiting for that call. I've had to call her office a couple of times over the past year. Several months ago, I needed a prescription from her, and it took several calls to her office before her nurse called me back to tell me that they were phoning the prescription in to my pharmacy. I was relieved to not have to deal with the stress of chasing down my doctor for the past couple of months, but this week, I had to call to schedule some routine lab work. I called on Monday and was told that someone would call me back -- if not her, then her nurse. It's Thursday, and I'm still waiting for that call back. I won't hold my breath since if I do, I just might die.

I love Dr Leah Heap. I went through about 5 doctors before finding her. She isnt dismissive, always seems really interested/concerned about your issues and always asks about previous issues upon future appointments. I recommend her to everyone I know.

The only "negative" I can say about her (and this was an observation from someone I sent to her) is that she will likely send you out of her office with a perscription. If you have a cold and just want to get checked that its not serious, you'll get sent away with a perscitption anticongestant. She also sent me off for lots of lab work and that can be expensive if your insurance isnt good. Once I mentioned that I was paying a lot on lab work though she told me that it was something that was likely not needed unless i had a specific issue since the last work I had (during a normal checkup) done came back normal
