BEAUTIFUL
This park is just beautiful! I love taking my dog on a walk through it! I am a photographer so this place is one I have walked through many times on well walked trails, my own trails and the paved areas. There is always something going on in the park. The museums are great and don't forget to go to the featured museum on free Tuesday! The place is full of fun inspiration, even if you are not an artist! Another fun thing to watch is the Lawn bowling in the northeast end of the park where there are at least 30 people bowling in their classic white outfits! The park has so much to offer it's a wonderful asset to san diego!!

A beautiful urban park
Balboa Park is truly a San Diego Institution. It was originally founded in 1868, but many of the classic buildings that you see today were built for the 1915 Panama California Exposition. Balboa Park is home to the world famous San Diego Zoo, as well as a number of museums including the Natural History Museum, the Museum of Modern Man, the San Diego Air and Space Museum, the San Diego Museum of Modern Art, and the Timken museum. There are also lots of free things to do in the park, including many flower gardens, a spectacular arboretum, and the Spreckles Organ Pavilion, which hosts free concerts every Sunday. I highly recommend a visit to this beautiful park.

gorgeous
Balboa Park is amazing.

The area itself is beautiful. There is so much green grass and nice architecture of the buildings and museums. Many people take their wedding, graduation, birthday, etc. pictures here because the background scenery is perfect for it.

The museums are pretty neat as well. They have everything from the natural science museum, to science museum (personal favorite), to the automobile and aerospace museums, to the San Diego history museum, and even more! Every Tuesday they have free museums Tuesdays where local residents can enjoy going to the museums for free (look online for schedules).

During the fist weekend of December they have "December Nights" and Balboa Park is decked out with foods, Christmas decorations and lights, and special performances on the organ pavillion. Museums are free too.

I can't say enough about this place.

beautiful
what a beautiful place. there is so much going on in this little area. i really love the cultural festivals that go on here...i go to as many of them as i can to help me be a more cosmopolitan citizen of the world. the museums are probably the most featured attraction at balboa park, and they are all worth a visit. i enjoy the actual park itself. i like the koi pond, and me and my girlfriend's adopted pet koi aptly named "Gonzo" after a venereal disease because he responds to claps.

i also really love going on short hikes through their desert area, because i always see something new that i haven't seen before....like new species of insects and spiders i wasn't aware lived in san diego[or even existed]...and garter snakes eating lizards.[that was intense to see happen]

the butterfly garden is beautiful. the organ pavillion is wonderful. really....there is so much to say about balboa park....i think it'd take a lifetime to fully experience and enjoy everything this place has to offer.

Beautiful
Strolling around the beautiful grounds of Balboa Park is a fantastic way to spend a Sunday. It is so much more than your average park. There are museums and art galleries some of which are free. The botanical garden is free eveyday and full of tropical plants. It is a great place to take the whole family. Some museums have a fee but every Tuesday certain museums are free to residents. There is a beautiful rose garden that smells divine. There is also a cactus garden with cacti in a variety of shapes and sizes. For a cultural treat check out the World Cottages. It is a series of cottages and each one represents a different country.
