Photo Booth by Ruth L. at InsiderPages
You know the photo booth where you take four different shots asnd it prints out on a stip. THey have them at the Fun Zone. You can go there at anytime and take pictures with your friends. I recommend to go late in the evening so you have the area all to yourself. make sure you have a bunch of $1 bills

Sand, Games, and the Water! by D.B. R. at InsiderPages
In an age where condos crowd the waterfront, it is nice to see an old-style amusement park on the waterfront. The merrygoround and the ferris wheel are great fun--even for adults. I was introduced to Balboa Bars and Frozen Bananas and wish I had tried these on my first day at the Fun Zone. The summer sun is nice, but I love the Fun Zone in early spring and fall. It's a great time to take a walk around Balboa Island and play a few games of SkeeBall. I hope the Fun Zone is able to fight off future development! Fun Place!!

PROS: A Must See for visitors to the OC
CONS:

The Fun Zone by J H. at InsiderPages
What California beach experiences should be. Take the kids, go on the ferris wheel, get a frozen banana or a Balboa bar, and take a tour of the harbor; it's the land that time forgot.

balboa fun zone rides by John M. at InsiderPages
One of the only Ferris Wheels at the water side left in Southern California. You can rent boats or kyakes, or you can start your trip to Catalina from here. A four block radius of shops, shoreline , restaurants. A good place to spend an afternoon with kids.

PROS:
CONS: Crowded in the summer parking is difficult.

Right off to Balboa Island by Henri M. at InsiderPages
This is a good location to spend a weekend day because it's so close to a lot of cool locations (balboa island, newport pier, the penisula area, the crab shack). Though the place is a bit dirty and the smell of restroom is pretty predominant, this place is still a lot of fun. There are little rides for the kids and tasty (cleanlines??) food. It would keep your children occupied for the rest of the day.
